Open Question: How can I take off Security Center/Security Shield?

I have secruity center on my laptop, and after researching on the internet, I know that it is a fake. It keeps popping up, and it won't turn off. It says I have 37 viruses, etc. BUT IT IS THE VIRUS! I need help.
